OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

Based on the ISO 45001 management system, MOTREX operates an integrated safety management framework covering all business sites, including its headquarters, plants, and research institute, as well as all stakeholders.

Occupational Health and Safety Management Policy

MOTREX recognizes the safety and health of employees as its highest priority and strives to foster a safe and comfortable working environment through the establishment of an occupational health and safety management system that complies with applicable laws and standards.

  1. The Company makes its best efforts to create an accident-free workplace through the establishment of a safe working environment.
  2. Sufficient human and financial resources are provided to eliminate and control hazards by establishing a robust safety and health management system.
  3. Occupational health and safety objectives are set, and detailed action plans are established to achieve them.
  4. Internal regulations are established and faithfully implemented in compliance with relevant occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
  5. Hazards are identified through worker participation and are mitigated and communicated through safety training.
  6. The Company operates an effective occupational health and safety management system through periodic monitoring of safety and health objectives.
  7. All members of the organization shall faithfully fulfill their responsibilities and obligations regarding occupational health and safety activities.

Occupational Health and Safety Organization System

The Company operates dedicated safety organizations at each business site and an Occupational Health and Safety Committee under the oversight of the CEO. The system is centered on the Safety Management & Planning Team to ensure company-wide safety management and execution capability.

Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management

Risk Assessment

- Manages potential hazards and risk factors across all manufacturing, research, and support processes through company-wide risk assessments.

- Applies the checklist method at the headquarters and research institutes, while the Cheonan Plant applies frequency and severity methods to assess risk levels.

- Operates a comprehensive preventive action system through annual evaluations and verification of improvement effectiveness.

Equipment Safety Inspection

- Conducts precise safety inspections on high-risk equipment handling high-pressure gases and fluids in accordance with the statutory inspection cycle (every two years).

- Conducts non-destructive testing and safety device performance tests on all 10 pressure vessels at the Cheonan plant.

- Achieves a 100% compliance rate across all equipment and continuously monitors equipment safety status through self-inspections in addition to statutory inspections.

- Establishes and operates a company-wide emergency response system and manuals to prepare for emergencies such as fires, explosions, and natural disasters.

- Maintains a rapid on-site response system through emergency response organizations, including situation reporting, evacuation, and recovery procedures.

- Continuously improves the emergency response system and enhances response capabilities through regular assessments and drills.

Process Safety Management

- Introduces smart safety systems based on collision avoidance and automatic control to prevent major accidents at logistics sites.

- Establishes a proactive safety management system that mitigates on-site collision risks.

Research Institute Safety Management

- Systematically identifies and assesses potential risk factors across all research activities.

- Constantly maintains and improves the safety level of the research environment through precise safety diagnostics and statutory risk assessments.

Workplace Environment Measurement

- Periodically monitors exposure levels to risk factors such as noise, dust, and chemical substances through workplace environment measurements.

- Implements preventive improvement measures based on process-specific measurement results, including equipment inspections, local exhaust ventilation systems, and the provision of personal protective equipment.

Hazardous Substance Management

- Systematically controls the end-to-end management of hazardous chemical substances—including introduction, storage, and handling—through an MSDS-based management system.

- Enhances on-site response capabilities through practical training covering substance characteristics, proper use of personal protective equipment, and emergency first aid procedures.

Supply Chain Safety & Health Management

Occupational Safety and Health Support for the Supply Chain

- Applies the same occupational health and safety standards as MOTREX to suppliers' workers and provides training and safety resources.

- Identifies and improves on-site risk factors in collaboration with suppliers through participation in suggestion programs.

Supplier Safety Level Evaluation

- Conducts safety level assessments for subcontractors engaged in outsourced work to prevent serious accidents and evaluate on-site safety capabilities.

- Provides incentives to high-performing contractors based on assessment results, while requiring underperforming sites to establish corrective action plans and strengthen safety management levels.

- Shares the Occupational Health and Safety Council operating policy with subcontractors and regularly discusses on-site issues with them.

- Establishes a mutually beneficial safety management system to jointly identify and improve harmful and risk factors through joint safety inspections.

Employee Health Management

Conducts statutory health examinations alongside regular medical checkups to manage job-specific health risks and support preventive physical and mental health initiatives for all employees.

Operates a follow-up management program for employees identified with abnormal findings in health examinations to promote employee health and strengthen preventive health management systems.

Improves work-related risk factors based on musculoskeletal risk assessments.

Safety Reporting Channel

Operates a suggestion and reporting channel that allows employees to raise safety and health concerns and report risk factors at any time.

Reviews and addresses reported issues immediately and shares outcomes to promote a worker participation-based safety culture.

Conducts year-round occupational health and safety training to build awareness of workplace hazards and support the establishment of a safe working culture.
