Automotive Electronics Enterprise Motrex Obtains ISO/IEC 27001 Certification, the International Standard for Information Security Management Systems
Motrex, an automotive electronics company, has acquired the ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard that outlines a systematic framework for identifying an organization's information assets, assessing risks, and establishing, operating, and monitoring protective measures.
In the midst of a trend where connectivity between vehicles and systems is rapidly increasing in the automotive industry,
this certification is significant as it demonstrates Motrex's capability to manage and protect client and user data in accordance with international standards.
Motrex has been integrating its information security processes—previously dispersed across various departments such as development, operations,
and sales—and refining a management system that spans from information asset identification and risk assessment to the establishment of protective measures and monitoring.
In particular, anticipating the trend of global OEMs requiring software and data security throughout the vehicle's lifecycle as a key condition for orders,
Motrex has focused on preemptively establishing a world-class information security system.
Motrex plans to utilize this ISO/IEC 27001 certification as a reliable reference for its future mobility business,
alongside its previously acquired vehicle Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) certification and other quality and safety-related certifications for automotive electronics.
Building on the fact that it has met international standards for overall corporate information security in addition to the security capabilities of in-vehicle electronic systems (CSMS),
the company intends to continuously strengthen collaborations with global automakers and major partners.
Motrex's CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) stated, "Through obtaining this information security certification and complying with international standards,
we will enhance corporate credibility with our clients and further strengthen our security capabilities to prevent security incidents.
" The CISO added, "We will continue to advance our management level to be recognized as a partner equipped with security and quality systems that exceed the demands of the future mobility market."
